In the life of the vehicle certainly burns out one or the other lamp. As a replacement, both the original US lamps are available, as well as corresponding offers from the EU. In the USA all lamps are uniformly coded with numbers. EVERY US supplier uses these numbers for the labeling, which makes a comparison and assignment very easy.

Unfortunately, everyone in the EU does what they want and cooks their own porridge. The allocation is much more difficult and is partly not clearly to match the US numbers. Nevertheless, I did the work and was able to find almost everything. As a reference I have chosen OSRAM, because everywhere available and a “quasi-quality standard”. With the OSRAM number it is also possible to find a cheaper supplier. Unfortunately, the performance of the OSRAM types do not always fit exactly to the US types. The direct comparisation for OSRAM in the USA is the SYLVANIA brand.

I find it astonishing that the #1156 (#1157 as well) is listed as 32 watts at Chevy. However, the lamp type itself comes with 27 watts. Unfortunately, the German equivalents are weaker at 21 watts. This is certainly a reason for the “sparkles” in US cars when 10 watts are missing.
